An opportunity has arisen for the position of clinical sister ward 1 Chester le street Community Hospital. We are a busy 23 bedded rehabilitation unit which is nurse and therapy led. Ensuring an intergrated approach for the benefit of out patients

Main duties of the job

Ward 1 is a 23 bedded elderly rehabiltation ward. We accept patients from the acute wards, direct from accident and emergency and from other organisations.

To supervise, support and educate junior members of the team, acting as a role model.

Support ward/department manager to ensure organisational goals/objectives are met within ward/department and policies are adhered too

When taking charge of the ward/department or in the absence of the ward/department manager, is directly responsible for ensuring that clinical, professional and cleanliness standards are maintained in the entire ward/department.

To ensure effective communication internally and externally, regarding patient care and resources

responsible for your teams appraisals.

Participate in ward Audits

Experience

Essential

  • Experience at band 5 level, people management, clinical skills and experience in older persons management

Statutory Registration

  • Active 1st Level NMC Registration

Qualifications

  • RGN with current NMC level 1 registration teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent

  • Degree or equivalent experience
