Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the busy Children’s Community Nursing Team as a Children’s Community Nurse. The successful candidate will embrace the challenge of working across different environments to meet diverse service user need. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working as an autonomous practitioner and gaining knowledge across an array of specialties, strengthening multi-professional working relationships. It is a role whereby excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and professional curiosity is paramount.

Main duties of the job
- To provide a specialist community nursing service for children with acute and ongoing care needs within residential and educational settings.
- To provide support to the lead professional for a child when planning and assessing a child’s health needs ensuring they are met within health care budgets if needed.
- Provide education, advice and support empowering families to manage their child’s condition at home and within the specialist schools.
- Provide or ensure the safe provision of evidenced based clinical care in both generic and specialist community nursing settings.
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- o Proven evidence of recent clinical skills
- o Recent CCN demonstrable experience
- o Demonstrable experience of nursing children with complex needs
Desirable
- Demonstrable experience of palliative care
Qualifications
Essential
- o 1st level registered nurse RN Child (Degree Level)
- o NMC Registration
Aptitude & Abilities
Essential
- o Excellent communication skills
- o High degree of organisational skills
- o Ability to make decisions and work unsupervised

- o Research/audit ability
