Job summary

We are advertising for a Senior Support Worker to work on our medium secure male unit.

The successful post holder will work predominately on Gardener Unit but there may times when they may need to support other wards within inpatient CAMHS.

We are passionate about our staff and the care which we provide to our young people.

Development and training opportunities are available within our service including IAPT Training and Care Certificate Training.

Main duties of the job

Our Support Workers are active members of the ward team who deliver effective care and treatment to service users whilst playing an integral role within the multi-disciplinary team and are key players in service development for the specific client group and participate in specialist training and research opportunities.

We require dynamic individuals with a genuine interest and positive attitude who wish to pursue a challenging career in CAMHS nursing. We offer excellent opportunities for personal and professional development via, appraisal personal development plans and training.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2 or above
  • Able to communicate and engage with Service Users

Desirable

  • Experience in goal setting / recovery

Experience

  • Worked in Mental Health Settings /CAMHS
  • Additional qualifications / skills relevant to role.

Essential

  • Understand the nature of mental health conditions and how this can impact on function and recovery
