Job summary
An exciting role is available to work as a Nursing Associate within the dynamic, forward thinking Northwest Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). You will work closely with registered nurses and the wider MDT to deliver high quality, effective person-centered care to people with a range of mental health disorders. You will hold clinics under direct and indirect supervision to promote the physical health of services users. The role will also require you to support the smooth running of depots clinics, along with administering depots in service users’ homes where appropriate.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be based within the Northwest CMHT. This area covers the north of the city center to Higher Blackey. Travel across the Manchester City patch maybe required at times. The role is very varied and interesting, and although challenging at time, offers the successful applicant opportunities to develop a wide range of clinical skills and knowledge.
The role of the Nursing Associate is to work with the multi professional team and the Registered Nurses to assess, plan, organise and deliver clinical care in line with the service pathways and as agreed with supervising clinician(s).
. The Nursing Associate role is the bridge between Health Care Support Workers and Registered Clinicians, they will work independently under the leadership of registered nurses, working within all aspects of the clinical process.
Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, values, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment; will work to the current a nationally recognised Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct and must meet the NMC standards of proficiency, high quality, cost effective, professional and clinical governance evidence-based practice.
Nursing Associates will engage in Continuing Professional Development as per NMC Revalidation requirements and processes. They will also engage in GMMH appraisal processes and work to support service improvement and developments linked to Trust objectives.
