Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit to a Matron focusing on the Learning Disability and Autism services in Suffolk. This is ideal for someone who is proactive and passionate about innovation and providing a high-quality holistic approach to the care of people who have Learning Disabilities and Autism. There is a strong MDT approach within the teams and the role of the Specialist Matron will have oversight and support the clinical governance framework, champion the role of the nurse and ensure high quality care is provided in all the services. There is an established Expert by Experience group within these services and strong links with ICB, Social care and the VCSE. The post is 37.5 hours, with the expectation of present and visible leadership both in the community and Inpatient units. There is a strong Matron network for peer support and development.

Main duties of the job

As Specialist Matron, you will be responsible for the clinical leadership, quality, safety and operational delivery of LD & A services in the community and inpatient, ensuring care is compassionate, timely and aligned with national and local priorities. You will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, ICB, social care, Experts by experience and voluntary sector organisations to deliver seamless, patient-centred care.

You will act as a visible clinical leader, supporting staff wellbeing, professional development and a culture of continuous improvement.
