Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse Associate to work within the East Lancashire District Nursing Service.
The role involves working autonomously with the support of the wider team to deliver planned care, and successful candidates will be able to demonstrate good problem-solving skills, adaptability and resilience at interview. Training and development support will be provided with a dedicated mentor and competency framework in place to ensure that the post holder is secure and confident in their role.
Ability to work contracted hours rotationally across day and night shifts, as reasonably required by the needs of the service. This a 7-day service, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver high-quality clinical nursing care to housebound patients, including end-of-life care, wound management, and support for people with complex long-term conditions. Working closely with colleagues, patients, families, and carers is essential to ensure care is holistic, person-centred, and responsive to changing needs.
They will review planned care and escalate any changes or concerns to registered nursing staff in a timely manner. Strong communication skills are vital, as the role requires effective relationships with clinical teams, patients, families, and other professionals.The post holder will actively contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, while also committing to ongoing professional development to support both high-quality care and career progression.
They must demonstrate professional standards, behaviours, and values in line with the NMC Code and the organisation’s expectations. We are seeking someone passionate about excellent patient care, able to problem-solve and adapt to change, confident in seeking support when needed, and committed to evidence-based practice and a career in District Nursing.
