Registered Nurse Associate – Outpatient Department, South Bristol Community Hospital

As a registered nurse associate in Outpatients SBCH (South Bristol Community Hospital), you will be expected to work across the various clinics, including working in our day case infusion unit where we provide infusions for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

We are a nurse led unit, and we strive to provide an exceptional level of patient care and a positive patient experience for all our patients.

Applications open to Registered Nurse Associates with current NMC registration and with evidence of level 5 foundation degree level.

Being part of our small team, you will need to work flexibly across the operational hours (currently Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm). We are looking for a motivated individual, who will work well within a team and autonomously within their scope of practice. Positive attitude and willingness to embrace change are key values within the nursing team.

Main duties of the job

Being an active and engaged member of the nursing team supporting the delivery of direct patient care across all the various outpatient clinics.

Undertaking a range of clinical skills within professional scope of practice, including being proficient at undertaking the following: nursing assessments, vital observations, ECGs, phlebotomy, medication management, administering injections, and cannulation.

The outpatient department has close working relationships with the other care providers on site and we benefit from having a bright, modern building with good facilities and parking available on site.

The role of the Nursing Associate is to work with the multi professional team and the Registered Nurse to contribute towards the assessment, delivery and monitoring of clinical care in line with service and patient needs, as agreed with supervising clinicians.

You will undertake direct patient care across all the various outpatient clinics. Qualifications and Training

  • Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
