Job summary
We are looking for a part time staff nurse to work in our Epilepsy Specialist Nursing team You will be supported in your development and you will manage a caseload of patients.
The Registered Nurse (RN) will participate in the inter-disciplinary care of a caseload of patients whose needs are being met within the Epilepsy Nursing Service.
They will be a member of a Multi Disciplinary Team and provide assessment, care planning and evidence based care to a defined caseload of patients.
Main duties of the job
- Provide assessment and personalised care planning and intervention to all patients referred to the service.
- Promote the health of patients and assist in the management of patients through enabling and encouraging independence, provision of support, facilitation of advice and information and education and training.
- To be responsible for the delivery of person centred plan of care e.g. assisting with activities of daily living, MDT goal setting, referral & discharge planning, etc. on a daily basis.
- Assess, manage, re-assess and negotiate with patients with Epilepsy using reflective practice and clinical reasoning to identify their physical, psychological and psychosocial needs and identify treatment goals and plans.
Qualifications
Essential
- First level Registered Nurse, registered with NMC
- NMP/ Non Medical Prescribing qualification or willingness to obtain this qualification
Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to prioritise complex workload.
- Basic IT skills
