An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the HCOP (Health Care of Older People) team at QEHB.

There are multiple vacancies available across the Heritage Building on Wards East 2a, East 2b and Wellcome Ward. They include full time, part time, fixed term, and permanent positions.

We are inpatient wards, specialising in the Health Care of Older People. As part of our team, you will be welcomed into a supportive, collaborative environment where new ideas and personal development are supported and encouraged.

We are looking for motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individuals to join our nursing teams. You would be expected to demonstrate clinical skills, supervise unqualified staff, maintain a safe environment and always adhere to our Trust Values. Effective communication and organisational skills are a must within our multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse within HCOP, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care while playing a key role in supporting patients and their families through their healthcare journey.

You will be responsible for:

Delivering exceptional nursing care that aligns with trust values and standards.

Monitoring and assessing patients, providing holistic care that meets their individual needs.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless care across the division.

Always promoting patient safety and well-being.

To be responsible for ensuring all patients and their relatives/carers are kept fully informed of patients treatment/progress and discharge plans/after care.

To report all accidents, hazards, incidents and complaints in accordance with Trust policies and assist in investigation of them as required.

Demonstrate appropriate assertiveness and ability to challenge others when the rights of patients and others may be infringed.

Promote interdisciplinary working, with outcomes aimed at the best interests of patients and cohesive service delivery.

Generate and sustain relationships that promote dignity, rights and responsibilities.

Be accountable for own practice and for the delegation of care given to more junior colleagues, support workers and students.
