Join Our Team as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – School Nurse.

In this key role as a School Nurse within our dedicated 5-19 years team, you’ll take the lead in providing exceptional care to children and teens aged 5 to 19. You’ll be responsible for operational and strategic management of a defined caseload, ensuring high-quality care is delivered in line with the Health Child Programme.

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do! Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to create a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. You’ll play a critical role in identifying and safeguarding vulnerable children and their families, partnering with other agencies to ensure every child gets the support they need.

But that’s not all! As a School Nurse, you’ll also manage the development, implementation, and compliance of essential policies and procedures, including appraisals, personal development plans, and clinical supervision.

As a vital part of our team, you will provide a robust public health-based service aimed at improving the health outcomes of children and families in Bury. You will work collaboratively with partners to ensure the effective delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, making realizable improvements in the community’s health standards.

Additionally, you will manage a safeguarding caseload, overseeing child protection efforts, ensuring safety and wellbeing for all children in your care. Alongside these responsibilities, you will provide invaluable line management support within your team, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

Essential

  • Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – School Nurse

  • RSCN
  • V100/ V300 prescriber

Professional Registration

Essential

  • Applicants must be a NMC registered nurse

Knowledge, Training and Experience

  • School Nursing experience
  • Understanding and knowledge of Community developments and National/ Local strategies
  • Knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practice
