Job summary

A new secondment opportunity has arisen for a number of Band 6 nurses to join the Site Management Team as Clinical Site Sisters.

The post will run during the working day, covering 7am to 7;30pm and will include weekend working. It is expected that Clinical Site Sisters will be a visible member of the Site Team on wards and departments throughout the day. They will work closely with the Site Matrons and patient flow teams and offer a senior nurse role to wards experiencing issues with simple discharges requiring interventions to succeed.

Main duties of the job

The role will be very mobile in nature to ensure face to face discussions are had with all health groups on the Hull Royal site and at the Castle Hill site on weekends.

You will be expected to attend regular bed meetings to feed back information pertaining to flow and complete actions set by the Site Management team, and are expected to act as a senior nursing support to ward areas who require assistance with discharge and flow matters.

Qualification and experience

Essential

  • Registered nurse, Midwife or allied professional
  • Minimum of 4 years post registration working in an acute trust at band 5 or above
  • Diploma or degree in either management
  • Demonstrate an understanding of national performance standards
  • Able to work collaboratively
  • Able to work effectively in high pressure and difficult situations
  • Proven track record of achieving objectives
  • Is able to professionally challenge showing courage and commitment to deliver positive safe outcomes

  • Able to fulfil Occupational health requirements for the post (with reasonable adjustments if necessary) including the ability to work unsocial hours, night duty and rotation onto days when required.
